"The announcement on top read, YOU MUST HAVE A STUDENT I.D. TO BE ADMITTED TO FOOTBALL GAMES WITH STUDENT TICKETS. The one underneath it read YOU MUST HAVE A STUDENT I.D. CARD TO CHECK OUT A LIBRARY BOOK."
This quote says a lot about football down in Texas. The sign about having your ID card is above the sign about checking out a library book. The students dont really take school seriously all they care about is football. That shows that the teachers dont really take school seriously either. Everybody wanted the football team to do good and have a great season. Everybody in town bought an add in the Permian Football yearbook to show that they supported the football team. It said that the yearbook raised up to $20,000 a year just for the football team. Down in Texas where they played football, you would be considered an outcast if you didnt support the team and everything that they did. The book says that the people would have everything in their homes dealing with football. The car tail lights would light up with footballs and the teams slogan every time they touched the brake. That would be nice to have everything be about sports. But i also think that it would become too much pressure and too much worry for the kids that are only in high school.
