Friday Night Lights (RESPONSE 2)

"On one side were the Odesa High fans, dressed in red, ready for this to be the year when the jinx was finally broken, for them to be the ones to beat their cross town rival. On the other side were the Permian fans, dressed in black, arms folded, looking like high-and-mighty music teachers listening to the annual school recital, so used to superlative achevement from their star pupils that only the most flawless performance would break theor cold impassivity" (P.155)

This quote reminds me of when im playing football aganist my cross town rival. The game between Park Hill and Park Hill South, (Park Hill being my school) in that game Park Hill is the school that has won 9 out of the 10 meetings between the two schools so tradition favors with our school just like it dose with permian in the book. During my season that game could decide if we go to the playoffs or not, so that is a game always circled on our schedule. In the book it explains the feeling of friday night and the atmosphere. My description of that feeling is you walk onto that field and you get those butterflies, sometimes they go away and sometimes they stay with you untill you get that first hit against the other team but eventually they will go away. You hear your band playing your fight song and you look up your fans and parents and you feel just like a pro-athlete. If you really love the game of football their is no better feeling than walking onto that field on friday night under the lights. Representing the name of your school on your jersey, and fighting for what you and your brothers have prepared for all off-season, to win and have fun doing it.
